The Summer House

Carriage House

Our natural amphitheater and English gardens create the ideal venue for summer cultural events. Visitors can stroll the grounds, visit the Summer House, Croquet Court, Terrace and Patio.

Situated next to the historic house, the terrace is covered with rock pavers and surrounded by the historic gardens that date back to the early 20th Century. This shady area makes the perfect place for a summer luncheon, tea or small special event. Here guests will enjoy the beauty of nature, the smell of flowers and the songs of the birds. The Terrace is available from 10 am to 9 pm. Capacity is 35 people.

The Patio

The beautiful flagstone patio is surrounded by a stone seating-wall and faces the new portico at the entryway to the museum. This lovely setting is perfect for a cocktail party, luncheon or performance for a small group. The curved rock seating-wall can seat 35 people and chairs and tables can be set up here, too. The afternoons and evenings are shady on The Patio, with bright sunlight in the mornings. The tinkling of chimes can be heard from this cozy spot and there is a nice view of the mountains and trees. The Patio is available from 10 am to 9 pm. Capacity is 75 to 100 people (some standing).

For events that require set up and breakdown of furniture, there is an additional fee. Please call to discuss details, pricing and to arrange a tour. We suggest you come and see our beautiful settings before making your rental reservations. Please call (303) 674-5429 for details.
